well...im thinking it would only show a difference when the car has been running for some time

water is hot and will stay hot, and maybe heat the TB

but if its bypassed... it wouldnt bother it at all

riiiiight?...

As long as you're not in a cold climate area, then you will be fine..

It actually doesn't make a difference. The air is traveling too fast past the T/B to absorb much heat from it. Some one with experience with racing datsun Z cars proved it on hybridz.com.

Its also pointless, its suppose to keep carbon from building up on your throttle body. Thats why its heated in the first place. Carbon = sticky throttle and loss of driveability. Ever take off parts of the intake manifold and see all the black crap? Thats what it prevents from building up.

Unless your car is a race car, keep the coolant circulating in the T/B. Its there to make your car "easier" to drive and keep maintained. And other then a few exceptions on here a max wont be a race car, its a great DD so leave it alone.

I did this on my VE. It doesn't not make any more HP than before. It's just one of those MANY mods I've done that "in theory" might help performance. But we are talking tenths of a HP, if that.

I also believe in severe cold climates, it helps the throttle plate from sticking.

On some cars, it's a huge difference b/c you are bypassing coolant flow to the entire upper intake manifold. Keeping the entire intake manifold cooler has been proven to show gains. But, in the VE coolant only flows through the TB. By just bypassing it on the TB, you will not see any noticable gain. It's just one of those things you do for the heck of it.

There are no adverse effects with the VE motor, especially if you keep your TB clean like you should anyway!
