vg30de ticking?
vg30de ticking?
hey guys, does the vg30 have vtcs like the VE motor? if not what are these silly ticking noises coming from my friends motor. i havent had a whole lot of time to look at it i just kind of listened to it. i really doubt its valves or pushrod. oil pressure is fine. this is a vg30de out of a z32 300zx.
Hmm, it could be an exhaust leak. Exhaust Manifolds on the VG is horrible, and studs break a lot. Notice any decrease in gas milage?

oh, woops... I didn't even see it was the vg30De, Not sure if they have the same exhaust manifold...

But yeah,he doesn't say it's in a maxima,though posting it in here i would think it was in a maxima.
oh sorry guys, its not in a max its in the 300zx. By the way my 240Z has a L28ET motor in it with megasquirt and GT30R turbo. anyways, the ticking kinda sounds like that, but not that bad, but its from the top end not that area of the car as in the video.

That waz my max when the timming tensioner was messed up. The tensioner waz messed and waz making a clicking sound.
alright cool, i can tell him to try and ground those out and if not that it might be the tensioner. any chance you have an expandable version of that pic grace_imports? thank you all for the help
