Locally we have a man called Dr. Vinyl who could fix it. But try an upholstery shop, or theres always the almighty tape of duct.

Duct tape is pretty ghetto though. For a temporary fix its ok but I dont know how well it comes of leather but i guess you could try that.

don't even think of duct tape. it'll ruin the leather and every pair of pants you sit your filthy **** down with.

the way to fix it is to remove the seat from the car (10 min), remove the seat cover from the seat (30min to 1hr), and restitch the leather. go a couple inches past where the split stops..

Wow, I thought I was the only one with that interior color. But my center console isn't like that. It's a lot smaller. I'd love to have that center console in my car. At least your interior is in A LOT better shape. I have quite a few cracks here and there on the leather, and I have a NASTY crack on the backseat, where your head is. The top there is really dry, no matter what I do, so leather has cracked off. One of these days, I'm going to end up getting all the leather replaced, but I'm going to stick with the same color because I don't feel like sourcing the rest of the interior to match a different color.

lol so wat if its ugly .. I would rather have a ugly rare max then an everyday black or tan leather max. I have kinda grew on to it after drivin in it for about 3 yrs. I just wish my seat waz more confortable... Im gonna stop by at Dr. Vinyl tommarow to see a price on it.

i guess i can understand how it could grow on you. it is indeed different. i kind of like the red door locks. the only right way to fix it is what matt said. unbolt seat, take out of car, take staples out, take leather off seat, give to mom to re-sew.

As fas as I know we have the small center console until 92, not sure, I have the 90SE with the small one and I've seen 91 also, but he have a 93 GXE and that bigger center console it's great for arm rest well that's what I would like to use it for if I had it. Color isn't that bad, true that looks so 80's, but if the owner likes the color and it's in great shape, what else matters!

That's right! I love my burgundy interior, although the burgundy cloth is a bit more subdued than burgundy leather....and also probably not as rare. I still love it though

get a piece of leather thats about 4 inches larger than the tear, and is as close to the color. push it under the tear and then use contact cement or epoxy glue to close it up as much as you can.

loving that burgandy color is like having a ugly kid.
You learn to love it.

Its easy to take the seat out, just 4 bolts. The leather cover
is a little harder but basically just hooks all around the the seat.
I did it and it was my first time, and it was easy, just make sure
you keep the leather straight and keep pulling the thread tight.

If you change out your seats, I'll call dibs on them. I have several cracks here and there, and your seats look AMAZING in comparison to mine. And if you decide to change out the whole interior, I call dibs on the center console. Hell, the steering wheel too, if you're changing that.
