Humming noise inside the cabin on idle....

My car recently began to make a humming noise that I cant figure out where its coming from exactly, except that I hear it inside the cabin mostly on the passanger side. When I lifted the hood I heard it also but still cant pin point the location. At first I thought it was the power steering fluid was low but when I checked it was full. I have a 92 SE auto, anyone every experience this noise before. You can hear it clearly at idle and its getting very annoying. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

exhaust leak possible.. but Fuel pump is in the trunk area I hear it in the front passenger side area. I cant tell if it gets louder when I rev the engine to determine exhaust leak without lifting the car.

I had this same exact noise....was more noticeable in the car than outside....it was my alternator dying.

if the symptoms are what i'm thinking, i've had the same humming/vibration for about a year. i've ran it without any belts connected except for the water pump and it didn't go away. eventually i'll run it for just a few seconds with the water pump disconnected to see if it goes away. i'm hoping that's what it is.

Yeah I have this noise too, it's most likely an alternator issue, they tend to make that sound when they're going bad. My lights started dimming down at idle around the time that noise showed up.
