Umm, just look directly in front of (closer to the front of the car) of the distributor and there is a 10-13mm bold (I forget exactly how big) holding it down... The metal flange that the bolt goes in is literally connected to the distributor... you can't miss it.

you guys have it alot easier for checking timing and adjusting timing then we the VE owners lol having a distributorless ignition system is prolly alil more difficult then what a vg owner has to go through ive looked up all the info on timing tehe VE ignition system on alldata at college and will be doing the check and adjustment soon myself as its part of my competancy test.

not really so bro it has a photocell camshaft sensor dat sends signal back to the ecu which in turn is then sent signal to the control module t. thing is with efi distributorless ignition systems there are things u have to do to be able to set your timing on the cars like take for instance in this ford F-150 series truck we are working on in class for ignition problems in order for you to be able to set up the timing on the truck you have to disconnect the spout relay to be able to adjust and set the timing.

just a lil pointer, if your distributor has not been moved of replaced ever..it will be stuck on there real good so just pry it a bit until its loose but dont pull it out. I'm assuming you know how to adjust timing properly, right?

Guys, thanks for the pointers. I adjusted my timing (advanced it a bit), but found that I had to then adjust my idle too to keep it smooth. Anyone else have this happen when they adjusted their timing??

I believe I had to adjust it but my idle was all off before anyway so I dont know if adjusting the timing had to do anything with it. as long as you're at like 750-800rpm at idle when car is warm you're fine. Adjusting idle is even easier than timing.

Here ya lazy ****, made video of timing adjustment and idle adjustment for those of you who do not read. Oh btw Chris, sorry but the video doesnt benefit you since you have a VE...

BTW its not mentioned in the video but you SHOULD have your car on NEUTRAL with emergency brake up while adjusting the timing

Here's the idle adjust vid
