hey..my friend got rear ended by a uninsuraed, and unlicenesed motorist. i dont know if she has uninsured motorist coverage...what can she do?

 

Basically nothing..

does she (your friend) have this person's name/ID/address/ anything??
what about cops? did they fill out a report?

if so, you can drag that person to court and sue them. otherwise, there's nothing that can be done, unless she backs into a wall, then files a comprehensive claim and eats the deductible.

(that's of course not legal, but neither is driving without a liscense or insurance.. didn't stop the other guy)

 

well..the guy lied about his name and address, it looked like he was going to jet..but another girl in the passanger seat got his plates so he stayed.

the cops came, and he gave them a different address than he gave my friend, they fined him, and nothing else happened. so she got screwed...what irks me is, why don't I just go drive without insruance? then there's nothing people can do to stop me, I'll pay a grand, and that's that...it's kind of fu*ked up how this all works...the guy saved money by not being insured...and my friend get's jacked...wha'ts with that?

I'd suggest that your friend have the cops or a headhunter guy hunt that guy down and then sue him for the money. that's about all you can do now.
