98max engine into a 90maxima

i pick up my 90 maxima SE 5speed tomorrow from the dealer,getting out of the DSM's,but anyway...i know someone who has a 98 maxima engine with 20,000 miles on it,witha cracked valve cover,that he will sell me for $500,how hard is it to put into a 90SE 5speed and what parts will i need,thanks

It would be easier to buy a 4th gen. You would have to replace almost everything in the engine bay.

major custom work. your ve is very diff from the vq. and besides, you wouldn't gain any hp (stock to stock they are both 190) but i think you would gain some torque (i think 17 foot lbs). not worth it, get a 4th gen if you want a 4th gen motor.
