you donated you should know this: http://forums.maxima.org/search.php

The general consensus is Eibach and Koni. This exact same thread has been posted dozens of time and it comes down to those two if you want to enjoy the ride and have struts that hold up.

I second josh's motion and agree eibach/koni.

I know that's the consensus for the best products, but is there anything good out there if my budget doesn't allow for koni shocks?

INTRAX or SPRINT / TOKICO with Suspension Techniques sway bars...

But nothing, and I mean nothing beats a new set of bushings or urethane bushings. Start with bushings and sway bars.

I had Eibach / Tokico prior to my INTRAX Tokico, and the difference was night and day. The Eibachs are very harsh compared to the INTRAX, and honestly I had the EIBACHS for 3 years, and INTRAX for four years.

INTRAX was a 10, EIBACH, ahhhh 6.3 in my book on any road, straight or twisted.

see there is one slight problem you never had the eibach koni set up so how can u actually say it was the springs when u where already and still are running the tokico???

If you wan't to lower your car and not have to worry about replacing your struts in 1-2 yrs then buy the Koni's other wise Tokicos (not to mention how much better the ride is with Koni's vs. Tokicos).

If you want your car to handle good then buy Eibach's. If you want it to look nice (even F-R drop) and LOW then buy Intrax.

As far as anything else... I won't recommend anything else, so make a wise decision.

BTW, I'm not biased. I've had Maxima's with other suspension setups as well.

I had new EIBACH(fresh out of box) / new KONI(fresh out of box) on another car for 4 years. The KONIs are fine the EIBACHS are not.

each set up I had on the maxima was...

1st - brand NEW TOKICO(fresh out of box) w/new(fresh out of box) EIBACHs for about 3 years.

then...

2nd - brand NEW TOKICO(fresh out of box) w/new(fresh out of box) INTRAX for about three years.

I now run TOKICO D-Specs with SPRINT on my Z.

I would say that the best, best, best setup for the MAXIMA would be the KONI's with INTRAX or SPRINT but never got a chance to do that.

Actually regardless of what setups I had, the best modification of any of then were the Poly Bushings greased beyond recognition. The Poly bushings always made any set up perform as the products were intended. Untill I added in the Poly factor, each set had it's draw back. So all of those set ups were subject to suspect performance with the original rubber / slush bushings.
