CHTS Cylinder Head Temp Sensor Replacement
CHTS Cylinder Head Temp Sensor Replacement
I know the CHTS on my 90 is bad. Classic failure symptoms including ECU code 13. My question is where is it! Haynes says behind the timing belt cover (for 88 and 89 doesn't address 90), but in changing two timing belts on this car, I can't for the life of me recall a sensor in there! Before I tear it open again, I'd like to be sure thats where the CHTS is.
Nissan gave me a part 22630-51E02 which looks like a typical temperature sensor, with a fuel injector looking plug. I've also read a post (in gen 1&2 forum) to replace the harness when replacing the CHTS. Is this necessary or reccomended? How about a p/n for the harness? Thanks.

The pic i gave you is the chts...The pic you have looks like the coolant temp sensor, this sensor is is shown in the pic i posted,it is opposite the chts with the yellow plug...
Yah, that's what I did the first time.... I'm curious now though, my Hanyes manual points to the same part your photo does and it calls it a coolant temperature sending unit (ie. the one that sends the temp to the temp gauge). I think I'll take a stab at the other one first...
