The most I've crunched into my tank its 14 gallons, how the hell can it be 18.5?
Cause you still have plenty in the tank when your filling up regardless of what your gauge is telling you. I once drove around for a hot minute while still on E, so they aren't that accurate.

lol as I replied to what someone else before you, of course, the Empty light was on for quite a while (I was testing to see how long it would go before dying) until it finally died but then fill up came up to 14 galons

Well your not going to get 18.5 into your tank any way as there will always be 2-4 gallons at the bottom of the tank. The fuel pump isn't on the absolute bottom of the tank so there'll be gas it can't reach. And for max's that sit a while and are older you wouldn't want too as that gas will most likely have a good amount of dirt in it.

And stop talking about how my gauge does this, yours does this. Our gas gauges suck and are good for giving a rough guess on how much fuel is left. My maxima has only had the low fuel light go off once, and that was when it was under E.

BTW the most Ive ever gotten into any of my 3 maximas is 14. Thats without stalling it out...
