engine swap.

I now have a 94 SE 5 speed. white with sunroof and everything to my disposal. on four flats. with a stripper interior. the tranny is good. but the owner said he had injector issues so the upper intake manifold is sitting in the passenger side seat. I got it as a project car for 0$. I am cleaning it up. I want to do a new "jdm" engine swap. how hard/long SHOULD it take to do a full swap. I have all the tools i need available. and i figured after i put in a new engine and get her running. i can swap the interior parts from my gxe into the se. so the interior is new again. and obviously things like my headlights, and stereo. So how long should it take for a motor swap. and anyone else have oinions on my restoration idea?

depending on how fast you work, plan anywhere from a weekend to two weeks.
I had my blown engine out in 2.5 hours...
6 months later, I got around to putting everything back in, and it took me 2 days to reinstall.

if you're just doing a swap, then you should easily be able to tackle it in a weekend.

i'd put new injectors in and call it a day. sucks there's no interior, but for $0 you can't complain.

yeah. and VTC rebuilding. but i mean for 6 new injectors and redoing vtcs or w/e they are is hella expensive. why not get a 40-60k mile engine instead of a 250k one.

Everything depends on how much effort you want to put into it.

There is a large thread in the stickies about JDM swaps, done by Keelan (spipedong90) and Jeff92SE.

Since the car is in parts and it's not something you need to have done right away, there are certainly things that would be highly recommended in either the current engine or a JDM -- stuff like a new knock sensor, manifold studs, water pump, possibly VTC rebuild, etc.
