Intake and Coolant???
Yeah, so on wednesday I installed my Stillen Hi-Flo intake into my 91 SE 5-speed. It sounds sweet as anything, a nice add-on mod, etc etc... So I have no problems with it. But Friday (yesterday for me) I had to go on a trip to Philly (I live near NYC) so that took about 2 hours or so. I downshifted a few times obviously, heard how nice the intake was, as expected. So no problems, I get to Philly, go to a club, have a good time.
I walked out this morning (Sat) to my car, we all pile in, drive to a gas station, fill 'er up, and then right before I leave, I notice this nice amount of green-ness leaking out of the front of my car. Needless to say I had a few choice words. To make a long story short, I had to get my Water Pump replaced.
Now I don't think so, but is there any way possible that by me putting the intake in, with more air being pushed through... that somehow the coolant system couldn't handle it, and got all busted? I doubt it, but hey, stranger things have happened.
In fact, talking about stranger things happening, when me and some of my friends were waiting at one of the rest stops on the side of NJ Thruway waiting for the rest of our group, I'm walking into the bathroom, and this guy Dennis who owns the car place I get lotsa my stuff from walks right past me. The both of us turned around and were like "Holy ****", so I asked him where he was going, and he said Philly..... scary huh?
Yeah, so if you have any pertinant info on whats goin on, lemme know. Thanx.

I seriously doubt that your intake had anything to do with your coolant mishap. i have the same engine as you and my water pump kicked the bucket at about 84000 mi. and that was when the car was stock. as a matter of fact I didn't even start modding until the car was at 90000+mi
Yeah, i seriously doubted it also. But hey, I figured it was worth a shot to ask. And my car is 90000+ also, and it went. I figured that it would go sooner, but it was just cause it was one right after the other I didn't know if there was some freak chance that it might have been the case. Thanx.
