I've heard of using a 5th Gen muffler on 3rd Gen cars. Would a 2002 Q45 muffler work? Just curious if anyone knows about this, I've seen the new Q and the muffler looks sweet. Thanks for any feedback.

might as well get a performance muffler you could probably find one that looks similar.

I'm not sure about the Q45 muffler but yes the muffler from the 5th gen Maxima/I30's fit with slight modification as the inlet is in a different location than the stock muffler.

I have a dual dtm
but you could go with an apexi knock off for like $150 plus install and new piping from the cat back probably for $100

Id figure around $250-$300 total

I rather the stock look. I haven't seen any aftermarket high performance muffler that looks even close to stock. I want the high flow of the Q45 muffler which is big enough to handle that 4.5 litre V8, and it still looks like a normal muffler. Those polished stainless steel jobs attract too much attention from the po-po's. Also, i want to go faster, not louder. I think the VE sounds sweet enough with just an intake, especially when the VTC's kick in.
