I decided to give the track another shot and alas I was disapointed again. This friday I ran 16.8's consistently and I just don't get it. this is the time slip:
r/t.713
60' 2.463
330' 7.023
1/8' 10.804
mph 65.58
1000 14.045
1/4 16.800
mph 82.04

I don't know about anyone else but I definetly see improvement because I used to consistently come out of the quarter at 79mph and I would hit 80 once in a blue moon and I would run 16.7's all day, but since my recent addition I managed to run a 16.5 the very first night I had it and that was when I drove it from the muffler place to the track and that's only about 60miles but once the pipe was supposedly broken in I've gained trap speed but lost 1/4 mile time I'm not running an oem muffler but the muffler isn't straight through and I have the stock piping in. I know I'm getting a new muffler and I was going to look into getting my pipe widened to 2.5". by any chance does anyone else have any input or ideas?

several things to get you a few tenths off that E.T.

lower your front tire pressure to 22psi (cold tire)
raise your rear tire pressure to 40psi
manual shift that auto of course.
power brake at least near 3000rpms, and adjust accordingly to spin of bogging.

the key to getting a lower E.T is lowering that 60 foot time. It is crucial to get into the 2.0s. take everything out of your car that is not bolted down. and even then a few things bolted down could come out

try that.
Also push the car with the engine off throught the staging lanes. and get at least 45 minutes to cool down between each run.

Yea after each run turn car off and push , and if you have to drive it turn the heat on full blast to help cool it down a bit, open that hood as well, shifting your auto wont help you gain anything and your more then likly going to go slower, your auto knows when to shift better then you do, and im going to strongly advise against power breaking...especially at 3,000 RPM thats how you burn up a tranny, i know cause ive had it happen to me...at the track...it was pretty embarrasing going 5 mph down the whole 1/4 mile cuase of a slipping tranny, power break at around 1500 2000 and only hold it for a couple of seconds.
before you go to the track next time make sure your not full on gas....and throw in a bottle of NOS octane boost
oh and one more thing, get yourself a straight through muffler and a high flow cat (or no cat) it will compliment your y-pipe nicley

If South Florida is anything like North Florida (and I have a feeling it is) it's about as hot as the surface of the sun down there and humid to boot. These conditions sap power like crazy. Wait until it gets colder again, and your times will drop noticeably.
