should be easy question on rims-I just don't know the answer

Okay will these 17" rims off an 05 Maxima with 225 55/17 tires fit on my 92?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NISSA...95643352QQrdZ1

I searched through this forum and Tires & Wheels but didn't find much specific info. Thanks, I know you all must be asked "will this fit questions" all the time, but I didn't see it in the FAQ or stickies. If there is one maybe you can link me to it and if not hopefully somebody else knows the answer.

225/45/17 on a 17x7 with 40mm offset will fit just fine.

last week I fit a 17x8 40mm offset with 255/45/17 on the front and it didn't rub..... and I'm lower than 95% of the cars out there.
rear took a 10mm spacer to keep from rubbing the strut, but will fit just fine once I roll the fenders.

Finally, someone from my neck of the woods...What' up, Ferris...Welcome to the org!

As for your wheels, I can tell you that I am running 2K3 SE's (a slightly different design) with the same tire dimensions and I had some light rubbing in the rear, so I installed some smallish spacers (I forget the size). At worst you'll have to space all 4, but I doubt it.

Dude, I know what you mean. I was just there. The only thing I knew about was about cleaning cars, so I posted up in Detailing as much as I could, so I could ask a question.

Anyways back on topic. Thanks for the quick info. I think I read an offset of 32-40 was okay for 3rd Gen, so if thats 40 then the rim should be okay? And by using the tire calculator, the 225 55/17 shows to be just a little higher than stock- about 1". How does that sound? Think I might be pushing it? These tires come with them or else I'd probably go smaller.

I though I remembered reading a post on what wheel combo 3rd Gener's were using but I can't find it.

EDIT: Damn you guys are quick. At the 4x4 forum it takes a few hours to get a answer. Its like the response time is directly related to the type of vehicle one drives. Sorry that was stupid, but thanks again for the help.

Yeah I was just using that link as a reference. A guy at work will sell me a set for $200 with tires, but they have a small flat spot in them from locking them up, but otherwise are practically new. Has anybody ever tried doing a nice burnout to take out a flat spot?

The tire is way too big. The diameter is going to be about 1.2 inches taller.

Over an inch is a LOT of difference when it comes to clearance issues. I would definitely test fit them first if I were you. If you have a drop, I am almost positive they won't fit. They might if you are at stock height.

It's stock height. But the suspension is 15 yrs old. I was thinking Eibachs after going through those freebie tires, sort of like your set-up. What size tires are you running? Do you like how it rides.

I wouldn't worry too much about the tire size for now. just keep in mind your speedo will be reading about 5% low. so if it says you're going 60, you'll be doing about 63.....

when the tires wear out, put some 225/50/17 or 235/45/17 on them and you'll be fine.

I have 16" 4th gen SE wheels on there now, with 215/55/16s. Eibachs and Tokicos, so the drop is around 1.2 inches.

Matt is right, with your stock height, you should be OK on the tires. I would still pick those up, since that is such a good price.
