Thanks

I am determined to get a 91-94 BMW 525i though. Without a doubt my favorite Sedan bodystyle outside of the 96-2001 BMW 7 series

Damn bastards are being slow as hell! Been what, 2 weeks now!?

Well, Tuesday is the NEW magical day. Both insurance companies said that I should be hearing how much I will be getting for it then.

So...Tuesday I will update on the situation...or some heads will fly!

Same here except I hope to get a definite answer by Monday. I better start getting estimates with higher quotes as the Liberty Mutual's trusted bodyshop might be lowballin my repair cost by doing a crappy job of bondo-ing

So here is the news...

I will be getting the KBB price (a little lower actually) for $2000, however they are saying I can just keep the car. This means I get $2000 + the car. I will probably be spending a couple hundred getting it to run, then sell it as salvaged.

This, plus some other money I have, will let me get a 1991-1994 BMW 525i!!! I am estatically happy!

Well the whole point of it now is to get as much money as I can out of the car. Whether that be spending a couple hundred fixing/selling it, or parting it out.

The only problem with parting it out is I have NO place to keep it...but whatever parts you guys are interested in, PM me, and I will see what I can do.

Still no word on how much the repairs will be on the Maxima and what I will be doing with it (whether it be parting it out or selling it salvaged). I did use the 100% coverage the insurance company gave me to get a 1993 BMW 525iA. Without a doubt (next to the e38) is my favorite sedan body style, so I am VERY happy. Here are some pictures of my new baby

Wolf Strong, nice bimmer but I get the impression that those Bavarian Motor Works owners are getting a bit cocky and calling our Maximas "rice burners" yes they are Jab but I dont know dude...something about their attitude towards our cars I dont like.

As for gapboi, that sucks...any more detail on how it happened?

Well as for my car by time i set the bong down that bus full of nuns came outta no where, so..... ha ha ha jk I bought it like that yesterday for $500.00 Leather, sunroof, bose, 117K miles and the interior is in excellent condition I am using my original '90 max that was my project car as the donor for parts.
The original owner hit someone a few months ago when we had a freeze and the roads were iced over.

on the donor car i pretty much stripped the interior of all switches, controls, modules, and gauges. I took most of the trim items and through them all in a large tupperware container incase i ever need them. I am going to send it off to the junkyard after. The motor and trans are good. The donor car was my original project but i just kep sinking money into it and it still needed a lot of work. I bought this wrecked one for parts but then relaized how nice it was and runs perfect so I decided to keep it.

Agreed. I personally love the Maxima. While it may be FWD and not have all the refinement that the BMW has, it is a damn nice car none the less, and I do like in with the respect of an every day driver. I do not regret owning one, and while I doubt I will buy another one, I still have the upmost respect for them. I find myself worrying about scratching the paint on the BMW, but man I do not regret getting it. The thing is just georgious.

The BMW is an entirely different experience, and I personally have gotten so many people to just stand in awe of it with just a polish and wax!

I would also like to add that the maxima actually only suffered a broken tie-rod. $250 for alignment and new tierod and the thing is driveable yet again. Now, I doubt I will sell it due to it being a salvaged title, though I do believe I will sell the car as a parts car. Whether that be as a whole or taking whatever parts people want off, then giving it to a junk yard stands up for question.

EDIT: gapboi210 please create a new thread if you are going to try to sell your parted out car. Very disrespectful to try and sell your parts in my thread when I may be doing the same.

You need to chill out and read. Did I post about anything for sale? Read my posts and I mention that I am sending it to the junkyard.
