wiring question

wiring question

does anyone no if the 3 wires running on top of the passenger control arm/right motor mount connects to the reverse switch or has any thing to do with the reverse lights?

red white and black? should be o2 sensor. see if they follow the center member to the cat-side of the ypipe, and connects to that o2 sensor.

yeah those are colors. i wont b able to trace them until i pick my car up 2morrow. the wire got clipped but im not receiving any codes. when i throw my car in reverse the lights dont work and im not sure if this happened before or after clipping of wire

i don't know where those reverse light wires are but i am pretty sure that they run along the floor inside the car

as for the 02 sensor... you can see it if you look under the car, you just can't replace it without lifting the front of the car.

so being that the o2 sensor is not connected shouldnt i throw a code

yeah that confuses me. you should have a 33... i had a 33...
if the wires are all cut there should be a code. the no-error code is a 55. are you sure you are checking your codes properly?

yeah. only one wire is cut. cant remeber which one exactly but only one. my cousin who works at a dealership checked for codes so i no that they were checked correctly

you may have the "sensor connected" wire still intact, and the signal-to-ecm wire cut...
thus no code

ahhh yes. i didnt unplug anything so that may b it. so have any clue about the reverse lights? ive tried everything. new bulbs cleaned contacts changed lighting assembly but still nothing and all other lights work

no it's under the hood. FSM page EL-35. Look at your oil filter from the driver side of the car, then look toward you.. you should see two gray connectors on top of the transmission that are like, joined at the hip. that's the a/t gear position sensor switch. your shifter cable connects directly to that lever, and the lever moves the switch and that's what connects the pins to make different things happen. you have to check continuity on that harness thing.
