Anyone have a pic of 3rd gen in satin black?

I really hate the colour of my car. I have every since I bought it last year, I'm sick of people calling it purple, so I'm considering a make over, but I'm having a hard time deciding between shiny black or dull black (ya, I like black)

Soo, does anyone have any pictures of a satin black max (NOT FLAT, SATIN!)

I have 6 spoke flat black rims with anodized lip, and obviously would tint the windows if I went black.

Thanks!

if and when you paint the car, you're gonna take the headlight and taillinghts off right? and get the door jams painted too right? and the engine bay too right? becasue i wouldn't do i any other way, becasue it looks kinda cheap if you just paint the outside of the car, and not get the detail work done as well.

If I change the colour, I'll change the colour completely. Jams and underhood are relatively easy. Probably take the lights out, havn't really had a look at what needs to come out and what can be taped. Fact is, this is an extremely low budget car, and is daily driven in Canadian winters, so a show quality job is kinda pointless.

Goon, you got any more pics of your phlat max? Not quite satin but close enough to give me an idea!

All I have to say is that if you are going to spend the money on a paint job get a shiny paint job. Sure some people like the rat rod look but to me its not a look that should be on a "finished" car. Plus there is a big difference in just painting it flat (or satin) black with a spray can to keep the car one color while you are working on it and actually paying for a paint job that is not shiny.

You will pay the same price and its just not my thing.

I will say this though. If you dont do the body work right then a shiny black paint job will bring those dents out where a flat or satin paint job will hide it.

of course its just my opinion but I dont like seeing "finished" cars in a flat color. I think its cool though if its a project in the works though.

there is just something about a nice 3rd gen mirror like my last paint job though...

IMO,a satin paint job on a maxima would look like a pimpled ****...

(although am compelled to say flat black as a trim or accent on some cars is ok... primarily paint schemes from the late 60's/early 70's -and modern ones that draw close parallels to those (I saw a very nicely done new Charger two days ago)).

Driving along and not being able to distinguish where your hood ends and the road starts because of the mirror finish > *
