looking for the 'best looking 3rd gen'... i guess the 3rd gen community should make that decision as a whole, so i guess we'd have to start with nominations?

who do you think has the most-worthy 3rd gen for the job?

I would nominate Pervis or James, but there are a lot of other sweet 3rd gens.

Maybe a feature on Aaron92SE about his n/a drag racing would be cool. Brad or someone else with a functioning turbo, etc.

eventually we're going to have to have a list of official nominees, and then have a vote. I'm pretty sure the 4th gen forum is gonna follow our lead

I think that's all I have ever seen of Danny's car in the 4+ years I have been on this board.

If we could see some pics, he would probably be a shoo-in.

Well I appreciate my name being mentioned but if a car is nominated it should be with the owners name (PA and Bret...not sure if he posts here) since I don't own one anymore. It does feel good to know people like my work though.

my nominations would be (in no particular order and not including cars I had a part in building) DanNY (I have seen complete shots of the car...beautiful),Chris91SE, James92SE, Bru91, Matt93SE and of course Craig B. I am sure I am probably leaving someone off...for that I apologize. There are just so many nice 3rd gens.

Thanks to everyone who mentioned my name. As for the bumper, it actually is the same color as the car. In certain pictures it looks a little off because of lighting, angles, shadows, etc. It does not look like that in person. I'll show you an example-

Below you can see how it looks like the rear bumper's color is a little off because of the angle of the car and shadowing.

The picture above is more accurate as to how the car looks in person. Everything is one color.

nope I can still tell its a little off in color. Probably a respray or something...it can be hard to match metallics sometimes.

Heck look at Juan's cars...his bumpers are mis matched as well because they were sprayed separate.

And BTW if we could nominate past cars (I guess you can) that have gone on to the big car lot in the sky then Juan's (shavedmax) would be one I would pick as well.

mine is the same way. my car is actually silver though. the bumpers are made of a rubbery type of material. i can expecially tell on the black part at the very bottom of my car. the black part on the bumper is still shinney. but on the lower part of the car its very dull. id love to be able to afford to paint mine and get it all perfect but...im kinda unemployeed soooo. maybe one day. but you guys cant deny he has one of the cleanest 3rd gens on here if not the cleanest.

Thank you. Now looking at it closely, it does look like the bumper may have been resprayed in the past before i owned the car as Michael said. I have never gotten the car painted, only the Stillen kit was painted so this is why there's some differences. But at certain angles in person it appears to be one color, while at other angles and in different lighting it looks a little different.

Thanks for keeping me in mind.

I am not the best looking I don't think. IMO, I like the cleanest and least exterior modified Maximas. As said earlier, everything that Michael has done is awesome and right up my alley as far as taste. And I also like James' car too. And you can't argue with Chris91SE and that absolutely gorgeous paint job!

Maybe you can put me in the category as the best looking 3rd gen down the 1/4 mile. lol I really wish someone would give props for all the effort I've done to make my car as fast as it is in the 1/4 mile. My times aren't completely b/c I'm gutted. If I put my interior back in and make my car appear 100% stock, I'd only be about 3 tenths slower in the 1/4 mile. Maybe I'll get more attention when I'm doing 11s. I guess I know what I have to do now.

I've always like this picture of me and Craig's car:

Basically, what I was talking about is your 1/4 mile stuff. A magazine about Nissans definitely should not have all of their stories about show cars or those that look pristine. Adding tech information is crucial, too. You have been a pioneer in 3rd gen n/a racing as long as I have been on this board. It would definitely be helpful to those wanting to do more and open the eyes of "nonbelievers." As it is, few people know our car are even capable of 14s!

There are a lot of cars magazine worthy, as far as their appearance. They have been documented pretty well in this thread, actually.

There are too many 3rd gens that look great to really have a best one...

but I think the best looking cars, and the cars that inspire me are
-James92se (with the new black wheels )
-Michael
-bru91
-Chris91se
-and the Matt guy, his car = clean

alot of people have really nice maxima's on here though, I juast think these are the best looking as of right now, hmm...maybe one day i can be on this list

I appreciate it. It would be nice to show the Nissan world that NA 3rd gens are easily capable of 13s, especially the 5 speed VEs. No VE5 has done 13s, but it's definitely possible with slicks. My VE Auto ran 16.7 when it was stock with just a cone filter. It's come a long ways.
