Where to find those AWESOME chrome gauge/dash rings?

Ages back someone posted up details incl. some nice images of their 3rd-gen dash with chrome gauge rings designed specifically to suit. Cant remember if he bought them off ebay or a website somewhere that distributes them.

One of my illumination lights behind the dash has decided to die in the **** yesterday and i am such a fussy bastard i intend to rip away at the dash to replace them, so i figure while i have it all stripped i'll buy / add the chrome gauge rings for a nice added appeal.

Would anyone be able to possibly link to the thread with the info / pics or a website that sells them? i'd be ever so appreciative!

Also, in regards to the type of lights used behind the 3rd gen dash, what are they??? and is it possible to change them from green to blue??

Thanks again.

That looks awesome. Now I only need to talk myself into spending $35 on plastic rings.

They're metal! And they look greaaaaaaaat! I look at my guages more often then at any other part of my car, so it's money well spent

Hrmmmmmmm

I've left a couple of e-mails since friday, both on the actual website and to the AOL e-mail addy on the contacts page, asking for info in relation to stock of these, and how much for shipping to Australia.

Neither e-mail has been responded to. I pray these guys are still in business because nowhere else offers this awesome chrome ring kit for our cars (well, not that i'm aware of).

Not sure what to do.

someone else used to offer these rings, but either they went out of business, or i just couldn't find them.

since you're in australia, you'll have a pretty long wait.

here's my story:
back in march i had my dash apart and figured i'd buy the rings from motostorm. i figured i could have the dash apart for another week and a half.

i asked for a paypal invoice and got one about two weeks later. i paid and specifically asked them (both in email and in paypal comment) to inspect them for scratches, blemishes, etc.

they said they shipped them about a week later. it took another week to reach me on the west coast.

when i opened the package, the gas/temp ring had a .5" blemish. it was either scuffs or someone had left a fingerprint while it was still wet. it didn't matter what it was; it was unacceptable. i did a test fit and the rings were a bit too small.

i emailed them immediately and asked for an exchange. a couple days later they got back to me and said i needed to return them first.

i sent them back in the exact same envelope using usps first class (what they used) with delivery confirmation. the funny thing is they received it in two days!

two weeks later, i still didn't receive the replacements. after countless emails, they apologized and said that they had to go through each and every set to find one that was blemish-free. i supposedly got the one and only set that was blemish-free. they sent it out and a week later i received them.

the replacements were a bit too big, and i had to shave some plastic off of the plastic bezel. they do look nice, though.

so, unless they repainted the rings, you'll get a set with a blemish. it probably took about two months for the whole ordeal, and i live in the states.

they look great, but can you wait for them to arrive? they are very, very slow. my guess is they're a small company that doesn't have many employees and don't check their email. sorry for the long story, but i feel you should know before you commit to buying with them.

btw, the best way to get in contact with them is through their website.
