I am wondering about dual exhaust. Is it worth getting? Does it improve my performance or just sound nice? Also, if I got this done, what else would I have to change to bring everything up to normal and run smoothly?

Well.....

1)no perfoprmance gains
2)IMO will look nice if done right
3)it can be $$$ if you have no idea what to use and how to do it and nothing has to be changed on the car if you know what parts to use

do what i did...get a muffler that has two openings in it. then run the pipe around the spare tire thing and bring it out o the other end. no gains will be made and it looks nice. hopefully i can get a digital camera and post a pic of it.

So how come when people do a normal exhaust overhaul (i.e. cai and catback) they get results? Could I do what they do, and then still do your idea as to make it look like i have dual exhaust?

because duals are just for looks not for gains. a catback and y-pipe will definately give u results. i would think u can do what i did with the cat back cuz the piping is just being replaced

going with dual exhaust will get rid of all your back pressure, and you will lose horsepower. going with a CAI, y-pipe, high flow cat, 2.25" piping to a nice single chamber muffler will be the optimum setup. you will have the right amount of back pressure which is most important.

yeah, that is what i was going to say, you will lose power. because your car is a n/a car and unless you have boost you will not need a dual exhaust nor a full cat back (3 inch for example). what you could do if you have your heart set on it (in my opinion dual exhausts do look good, just take a look at an accord v6 with 2 aftermarket mufflers, sweet). when you do the dual exhaust, get a full catback so that the new size will 1.25 one each one so the total size for both pipes will be 2.5 and that is close to stock piping size and you shouldn't lose any or no power.

hmm...do you guys think that would work? are there aftermarket mufflers with 1.25" inlets? you still have the problem of the spare tire being in the way. i love the look of the 2 door v6 accords with dual exhaust

You don't have to go that small....

Dallas at WSP said 2" piping wiil be fine and all you have to do is get a size reducing "inlet adapter"(sold at Trak Auto, etc.) so the 2" piping fits either a muffler with a 2.25" or 2.5" inlet! but like Bucktown said, spare tire well poses a prob, but not if you use the right size muffler and get creative!

no gains?

i would think that if you got a dual output muffler and ran dual pipes it would produce gains like a normal cat-back would. hell even if you got a 2k muffler and put it somewhere in the foreward part of the car and ran a pipe off of each outlet, wouldnt it produce the same gains as it would with a normal b-pipe to the same muffler? just doesnt make any sense, i mean if you get one type of muffler, its going to give you the same amount of backpressure no matter where its placed (with the b-pipe before or after it). am i up a creek?

all you have to do is cut the wheel well that is in the trunk. then put a sheet of metal in that place. it is not to hard . you will not be able to put the spare tire back in there but oh well. you can fit the second muffler there. one more thing you have to look after. is the fuel lines. they are right there where you would run the second exhaust. good luck
