I didn't even want to enter the show, but since I was the only one there I figured I had to. I don't even care about modding the Maxima, my CAI grounding kit and y-pipe are kind of preventative maintanence.

You were the ONLY 3rd gen there? That's sad. Especially considering how many 3rd gens on the org from the Chicago area. Congrats on the hardware, even if you didn't have any competition Nice max.

i could have gotten 2nd place. with my peeling trunk trim. gotta glue that stuff back in.

well there's always next year. maybe if it's somewhere near, say, Raleigh NC, i could attend in 2008. We have plenty of space for it. The NC State Fairgrounds come to mind, as well as the nearby parking lot of the RBC Center (where the Carolina Hurricanes play)

I would consider myself an enthusiast, who else stores a Maxima in the winter?

I saw that most of the heavy hitters weren't going to show, so I figured the 3rd gen display would be very light. Like Matt said, I can stand in a parking lot anytime and talk about cars...

Furthermore, with no other 3rd gens, why would I want to listen to how much the 4th and 5th gen guys think their cars are better? I certainly wouldn't have had backup.

But one of those trophy's would have been mine... My car is beautiful.

ah, but we have to other locals that have 3rd gens for "beaters" they actually don't bash them anymore because they realized just what they are. Hector actually scored a VE5 with speed holes that he uses regularly.

no dissing of gens was heard by my ears at the show.
hopefully we'll do it here again next year and have reason for people to show

I really wanted to go but the family scheduled a big camping trip, and I had to show off my outdoors skillz. I'm still doing lots of stuff to it, too. Next year will be my time to shine if it's in the Chicagoland area again.

I thought you and the gf would be there for sure, John!!

Damn, my 93 with a big rust hole on one of the doors, pealing clearcoat on the spoiler, cracked front bumper, worn out shocks, broken seatbelt sensor, and an exhaust leak would have one a trophy. The condition that my car is in is embarassing and I definatley have work to do on it. I didn't go because of a family emergency and a graduation party but I would've been there if it weren't for those setbacks. I will definatley show next year and I plan on attending some chicago meets in the future. I'm sure you guys don't want to hear this, but had I been able to go, I definatley would've taken my 03.

I wish I could have been there, but I have my reasons. It was too long of a drive to justify showing up for a couple of hours and not having a max. Congrats on the trophies Josh When I get her running in a few weeks we should meet up.

Good pic Josh of the trophies. i really like how most of the people I see in here are still bashing maximas generations...it's great. I have a 94 VE5, and frankly I use it as a beater because it is what it is. I like Maximas in general, and each gen has it's strong and weak points. There was no gen. dissing....maybe the 6th because no one locally rocks it much. The whole standing in a parking lot excuse is bull specially for locals. It's due to some parking lot talking that many of the locals are at a moment's reach. I want to thank those that came, and hopefully there will be a bigger turnout no matter where it is.

BTW, anyone interested, we're having a BBQ next month in Chicago....check the local forum.
