I would say keep the leather, but that's just because I don't like racing seats. Although I prefer tweed or velour before leather.

Are you racing the car? no.
Do you like leather? probably, so fix it!
personally, I think the leather in the 3rd gen stinks. Perforated Leather is 10x better.

I am pretty happy with my leather, other than it's black and gets really hot in the summer.

I have seen a few Maximas with racing seats, but if you don't race, I don't really see the point. It's harder to get in and out of and they aren't as comfortable on long trips.

IIRC, someone put some 4th gen seats in a 3rd gen, but they had to "massage" them in because the 4th gen seats are bigger. They are also not as supportive.

If you have some skills, you can put in about any seat you like. Personally, if I had a chance I would find some black leather RSX-s seats. Those are a good cross between comfort and race seats. I know a 4th gen owner (KrisMax?) has put them in, but it requires welding in brackets.

I don't race, and i really like mine, they are more comfortable than you think even on a long trips, and you are right, they are a little more difficult to get out, but may be because i am short and I sit closer to the wheel. They are great upgrade IMO.

Hey what kind of seats are those chi? My leather ones are starting to tear and my girlfriend hates leather seats in the cold and in the hot temps.

Now, that would make it difficult to get in and out.
