Interesting problem
Interesting problem
This problem involves two vehicles.
a 93 SE and 94 GXE. Both automatics.
My car, the SE stopped actuating the solenoid under the shifter, to lock the shifter. ORG members pointed me in the direction of the panel near the passenger sidewall. Never really did get to that.
Then my wife says my brake lights dont light up. So I check the fuse, and the third up from the bottom on the left column was busted. 15A. So replaced it with spare and lights work, and shifter work! awesome.
That was about a week ago.
Then it happened to my wifes car, suddenly one night the shift lock was not actuating when the brake was pressed. I checked the brake lights, they were good. Her cars cabin lights are somehow permanently disabled and I dont know how to fix that... and I left my maglite at home. SO here I am at home, about to go out and look at the fuses. I coudlnt check the fuses at the time of the problem.
But the brake lights work.. I thought that since in my cars case the fuse solved the problem, that they were tied together. They should be, they are right?
In her car, the brake lights come on, but now her auxillary brake light does not. It did before... Could her shiftlock be tied to the fuse for the aux?
Wierd! I'll figure it out. But I'd love to get her cabin lights back up and running.. dark as hell with nearly solid black tint.
