Different Bose Question

I have a BOSE syetm, that still sounds good. However, I would like to swap out the rear 6X9's with something that will still work good with the amps and something that has good deep lows and not distort ant high volume slike the current ones do. Any reccomendations? Would like to keep the price low.

Won't happen dude,no aftermarket speakers will be compatible with the bose amps..

The bose amps/speakers are 1 ohm, most aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm..

this is pretty much the same bose question that gets asked all the time btw...

there's not an aftermarket option that will just drop in. like greeny said, bose is 1 ohm and aftermarket speakers are usually 2, 4, or 8 ohm.

anyway, you don't need to change your wiring. i didn't see the point in using the old wiring, but you can reuse them if you want. you'll just have to bypass the amps.

i used some thicker gauge wiring along with aftermarket amps and speakers. i figured if you're going to do the work, you might as well do it right. if you ever intend to upgrade to an aftermarket amp, you might as well run the new wire.

Really it isn't too expensive if you shop around.

My uncle gave me 6 speakers and a 3 year old JVC headunit. New it was about $150 for the HU and speakers probably $75 for each pair.

I needed a second HU and I found a deal on some pioneer speakers for $60. I went to the junkyard, got a face plate-less jvc for $20 and a face plate on ebay for $22 and I have a new setup. Some good wiring and its done.

Just search some local forums and here for some used quality stuff if your on a tight budget.

its possible. but as mgm said you would have to find a 1ohm 6x9 which would b very rare for an am speaker. i can look around for you though
