Electrical Problem after Fixing AC

So I've search and it appears that either no one has had this problem or it hasn't been reported. This happed on the 4th of July.

Well I was working on getting my ac working and right at the final step which is evacuating and recharging...my interior started getting fogged up and it smelled like burnt plastic. I immediately shut off the car and disconnected the battery, once I did that I just went ahead and removed the gauge cluster since it was coming from that area. This caused ( i believe 3) fuses to blow.

Fuses were for compressor, inside lights and some other fuse IIRC. After I looked at all the wires to see if anything was making contact or burnt I finished up the car and everything is fine with the ac but my seatbelt light stays own permanently now. My fans *BOTH* go on immediately after I turn the key even if I dont start the car. I've checked the connector for my CTS (CTS is a year old) and its fine. I've unplugged my ac compressor but the fans still keep going.

I am frustrated that I'm so close to getting my car how I want it...I was just waiting to get everything working before sending it to the body shop but looks like I got some other priorities before making it look purty.

Help anyone? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

multimeter time.
first take a reading at the CTS connector. make sure the signal is being sent to the ECU, and then at the ECU to be sure it is receiving it.
it is possible that you fubared the ECU somehow, which is my gut feeling.
for shiggle and gits I'd pull the ECU and smell it.
if it smells burnt you found the problem, if it doesn't smell then I'd pop it open and look for damage.

What, the poor girl likes pan cakes...can't believe you're making fun of her disability

Brian, I was also thinking the same about the ECU. Yesterday I disconnected the CTS, sprayed it and the harness with Electrical parts spray and got all that green stuff off the harness. I left it unplugged overnight so it would dry completely and today when I was driving I was wondering why my fans were running non stop so I remembered and I plugged it back in. Problem solved they stopped. I dont know if they're still going or not but I'll check at the meet tomorrow. Gonna be there?

Nah, I would've smelled the coolant in the car from day one. I have a strong nose and I've dealt with a lot of coolant with my previous Hondas' and their damn leaks.

Brian I am now just leaving for the meet so it IS after 1 pm
