brake light

okay. this is so annoying....

[[and also the 4th time]]
my brake light is on and the e-brake is not on. I checked the fluid level and it is fine. The fluid is just below "max" or whatever.
I dunno what could be wrong. Brakes are new.

im hoping the master cylinder isn't pooping on me......

Its most likely your fluid level even if its just a bit under "max" go to an autoparts store and pick up some Brake Fluid (DOT3), its only about 3 bucks and just fill it up to the max line. Believe me, its happened on most of my friends Nissans

it could also be the e brake switch stuck closed on the switch contact making it always say the brake is on when its not. i beleave this has been an isusses before with some of the maximas and there e brake switch.

bla, start with the easiest/most likely cheapest fix and work your way up.

BTW be sure not to spill or drip any brake fluid on your paint as it will damage your paint.

easy way to clean that up is spraying brake clean on any places he by chances spills on. and also trust me i highly doubt its the just alil below max level of brake fluid as mine is way beneath that and still doesnt come on and stay on it just flickers and also i have brake fluid i just got yesterday to fill it back up.

Carb cleaner/brake parts cleaner is abrasive enough to ruin paint as well. If it doesnt remove the paint, it will at least remove the wax/gloss.

Lets see what input we get after she tops off the fluid in there. If your brake light aint coming on and its way below hers then I suggest you take a closer look at it cuz mine and the g/fs will go off as soon as it's slightly below max, eh could be ours thats messed up, what do I know..

if you see sludge on the booster, you better pull the master and make sure it isn't leaking. If it is leaking it will destroy your booster.

you can try tightening the two bolts as a temp fix..so I'd probably suggest cleaning it up completely and re-tighten the nuts...see if it gets dirty again. If not then you might need a master cylinder which usually runs about 60 bucks at autoblown or 200ish at the stealership
