VE30DE ECU Chip?

I know a while back someone was trying to crack the ecu so that we could make custom maps for our cars. I was wondering if he ever figured it out because I found a copy of the stock chip rom on the web.

Yeah, it's been done. It's not hard to burn your own chips after soldering in a daughterboard. A guy name lanedrifter was the first that I know of to do this with the VE ECU. It's the same setup as the SR and KA guys are doing.

I am still working on emulating my ECU. I've been working on this for about 4 years now. I haven't given up on it. But things have been seriously delayed by a reason I'd rather not speak about on an open forum.

I don't know what an adr file is. I might have some bin files if that'll help.

If you already know how to burn chips for the KA, then get the same daughterboard and solder the same jumper, then you're off and running!

If you dont know what an adr file is then what are you using to edit the bin files?

I never said I was burning my own chips. But, I have experience emulating with the z32 ECU in my 92 Maxima. That didn't work out 100% as planned, even though it was definitely functional. I chose to abort that project and try to emulate the VE ECU, which is much harder than the VG30DE ECU. That still isn't functional.

What do you need the adr file for?

You use Adr(ess) files to allocate between maps when using romeditor. What are you using to emulate them?

http://www.ashspecz.com/index.htm

I don't think it was ever available as a free download. But if you contact Ash, he'll be able to give you further details. That is if he responds.

I sent Ash a e-mail the other day and he responded in saying. That right now he has a daughterboard that works with the VE ecu. And he is working on software to go with it. I have the Bin file of the VE Ecu I am just having a really really hard time trying to source a ADR or xdf file to go with it. Right now it looks like I may be having to create my own. If anyone else has experience and wishes to collaborate on ideas to break the hex structure let me know.
