there are cars that do not like anything other than the OE specified plug. Ours are fussy only to brand.

NGK's FTW! Stock NGK's work surprisingly well, even in highly modded cars. One of our z31 (300ZX) guys is still running the stock OEM NGK's and making over 400HP:

I use NGK. My JDM engine has the stock platinums, but I had coppers in my engine.
A nissan tech that used to be on this board told me that other plugs (especially Bosch) can cause problems with VE30DE coil packs over time (doesn't apply to VG engines). He thought it could be related to some of the stalling/bucking issues some people have, but not directly. Indirectly, he thought they were messing up the coil packs, which were causing the problems. It was only his theory, but he told me on numerous occasions when VEs would come in with those kind of problems, they had Bosch plugs.

i did have Bosch.... before this forum and the car was so CRAPPY!!!! when it went to idle it would almost want it to stall, but it would climb back up
after installing new NGK's the problem stopped

Autolite 3923 (copper), as recommended by Jacobs Electronics back in 2000. Their ignition systems aren't made to work with platinums since the electronics rely on the resistive characteristics of a copper plug as opposed to the resistive characteristics of platinums.

as long as you stick with NGK, you'll be fine.
the VG does best with the copper plugs. no notable power gains with anything else, only plug longevity.
the VE doesn't seem to have an issue running the coppers, although it recommends the platinums. I run the copper in mine and change them every spring during my annual tuneup.
the iridiums don't do anything special for either car. no dyno proven results anyway.
