I just tested my 89 maxima on the highway recently, and when I got around 115mph it seemed as if I was stuck there. How can I get more out of my car? Is there a chip that has to be disabled in order get the maximum power? PLEASE HELP.......Thanks

Start with you exhaust and work you way up to the motor. Either a pop charger intake or a cold air intake. Jim Wolf Technology, Jet and one or two others make ECU upgrades. If you have an automatic you'll want a tranny cooler asap. Take a look at my sig. I have most of the basic stuff.

Here are my recomendations for places to get mods:

Y-pipe, full exhaust, intake:
www.warpspeedperformance.com
www.cattman.com

ECU, I wouldn't get a Jet ECU, you will have no gains.
www.jwt.com

Upgraded brakes are always a good thing. There are a few pads that many people use and work well. Axxis Metal Master, EBC Greens, there are others but I can't remember them right now.

Good point about the brakes there HoJo. That was one of the most impressive improvements I got on my car. Pedal is hard as a rock due to the stainless braided lines. The drilled rotors make a neat sound too.

Maxima.org stickers are alway good for great wind resistance on the top end!...My best mod was definately my Warpspeed Y pipe out of all of em.

Was that Y-pipe a direct bolt-on, or was any welding or bending required?

I forgot something, a front strut tower brace, or FSTB, is pretty cheap and is worth it. As far as suspension there are many springs you can get depending on what you want. For struts you have a choice of OEM, KYB, Tokico, or Koni. Suspension techniques makes both a front and rear sway bar, Addco makes a rear, but it is slightly thicker than the ST one.

I do not know if he has the VE engine or not but FSTB for 3rd gen VE are not common these days. Most of the ones on the market requires modifications to fit.

I think Stillen is the only one that does not have a problem but it is also the most expensive..

Stillen has a FSTB for a VE? Really? News to me. I've been asking them for years.

Check with Greg at custommaxima..

That was the last place I saw a FSTB for a 3rd gen VE engine at $150 I believe.
