jwt ecu
jwt ecu
i was looking up some ecu's at jwt. i found two versions for my vg30e. one said "FED" and one said "CAL" the description for both ecu are exactly the same...
my question is: what is the difference between those two?

depends on what you want to do. generally you send them your eCU and they modify it, fitting it with a daughterboard and new ECU.. then they ship it back to you.
OR you pay them a whole lot more money and they use an ECU they have sitting on a shelf.
or you could watch the classifieds here and ebay and you'll see one come up every few months for much cheaper than new.

you would need the EU in order to change many of the things the JWT fiddles with.
it adjusts timing and fuel curves, based on throttle position and engine rpm and etc.
it's more than just advancing the timing and adding more fuel.

The more I think about it, the more I think JWT doesn't fiddle with nearly as much as we would like. IMHO
