agreed

I'll have to agree with you there...wish it was a little louder, but that is all you need though. Where are you going to find another radio, stock or whatever to give you the quality the Bose puts out?

I tell you if my BOSE system had worked reliably I would have that over my kenwood 47w x 4 pushing 5 1/4 and 6x9 and the 2 punch 12's with 500w jenson amp. I can't get my setup to ever sound as balanced as the BOSE was. I have better highs and (obviously) more bass, but I was satsfied with the BOSE in a way I have never been satisfied with my current setup. The things I didn't like about bose was the lack of a tweeter and not much volume. other than that I loved BOSE and if it is more reliable on the newer maxima, I will have that if/when I upgrade over any other stereo. I don't like having to have a box for decent bass.

when i first put my new sony deck in and turned up the bass all the way, it honestly sounded like i had a 12" sub in the trunk. its just enough bass so that i can get some compliments here and there but i dont look getto fabulous like those kids with 7 12s who cant keep the car on the road because of all the vibrations. no offense to u guys who do appreciate the ground shaking bass of course, u know im just jealous because i cant afford it

of course all the new model Bose speakers are a different size, I've never heard of someone taking speakers from a new model. Has anyone else?? It would be kinda cool to know how much labor is involved.

Adapting new Bose to old Bose might have some problems. I mean, crap, I tried putting a front driver speaker from a '90 SE into my '91 SE and the plugs were different sizes!

Id love to see it done though.

I love my Bose too. People get pretty impressed when I tell him I only have 2!! speakers working. All the sound is coming from my front 2 speakers. The clarity is awesome.

Besides if you wanted to use newer Bose speakers, they wouldn't fit into the speaker pods of your car. Then there is the issue with the pronges on the back of the speaker itself. I used www.davescoolstuff.com with all the Bose Woes I had in the past, now the Bose system in my car is completely restored to like new...

Since we're on the subject of BOSE...

I have a question about "upgrading" my BOSE system. I want to install 4 tweeters with the stock double-din head and speakers. I want to put one in each door. If I installed the speakers, put in a small amp for each one, and ran them spliced off of the current speakers, before the BOSE amps, would it work?

I hope this doesn't sound too rediculus, but I would like to clean up the sound a little bit, and I think this would do it. How about doing the same for a small sub behind the back seat? Run the signal spliced off of the back speakers to another amp?

Thanks for any input or info!
