44psi

Hi everybody,

it been awhile I have been on here.

I like to ask you guys a question.

Since the new tire pressure are 44psi, what do you guys think the best pressure for our cars, since the stock pressure is 29.

IMHO, go with what the tire itself recommends. (on the sidewall of the tire)

If your just talking about a tire for a 15" wheel.....?

If you over inflate you'll lose traction faster. Under inflate would help with a little traction but just too little and you'll easily lose traction. For stock tire size I always used 32 psi.

Really whats the point here? It's not like your taking your car to a track, if you were you would probably know there is a tire section, as well as a road course section in here..................................... The ppl in there that ACTUALLY go to track will help you better. There was just a thread in here the other day about tire psi, if only YOU LOOKED.

EDIT: it was ONE page back!!! http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=533295
Edit #2: IBTL!!!!

the number on the sidewall is the tire's MAXIMUM recommended inflation pressure for that tire and load rating, not the recommended pressure.

for the stock size tire, use what the factory recommends, unless you have issues with uneven tire wear or want to improve handling performance. then you have to change the pressures based on the particular driving and surface you're driving on.

for stock sized street tires, just use the recommended pressures. Nissan put them there for a reason.

my apologies, my stock tires seem to need the maximum just to even seem inflated....they're always looking a little flat.

to matt.

again, maximum psi means MAXIMUM PSI...you put 44psi in your tires cold, you stand a good chance of blowing them the **** out! My tires have a max rating of 44 psi (Hankook HR Ventus II) and I run 31-32psi in them. That is around the recommended rating for passenger car tires (performance oriented or not).
