Ok boys and girls, who here are really really really proud and happy with their 3rd Gen Maxima. I for one, happens to be a satisfied and proud owner of an '89 Max SE. At my best, I try to keep it as clean as possible and maintain it properly to last as long as it can. Many people actually didn't think that my Max is actually 12 yrs old.

Im proud to own a maxima, not saying that I wouldnt like to own a slightly newer maxima but i love my car i spend more time keeping it clean than doing practically anything else (i need a girlfriend). I wanted one back when i was 12 years old in 92. they are a great car and still have better lines then cars some manufacturers are making today. the 3rd generation is one of the best designs ever expecially for a 4 door sedan.

with my maxima, its a love hate relationship, i love it for the way it looks, drives, and how comfortable it is. I'm a senior in college now and I've had this car since junior year of high school. Its made 2 trips between NJ and CO and endured the beautiful yet monotonous scenery of the midwest(something about endless miles of farmland that just gets to you). I hate it because there's always something wrong with it. This time its the fuel injector that's broken making a cylinder fail and this is only at 93k miles! and also the some parts of the exhaust manifold needs to be replaced. Before that, it was the exhaust manifold studs, before that it was two window regulators, the entire exhaust system, the transmission... not only that, there's seems to be something that looks like a ribbon that's hanging out a little above the clock, there's a piece of the dash right underneath the windshield and right in front of the vents that's sticking up...

I'd like to keep this maxima forever because of all the sentimental value that's built up in 4 years, but I'm never buying another nissan product again. My mom's 1990 V6 Camry in 180k miles never had any of these problems.

i have wanted a maxima since my dad got his in 89, since then, i've been hooked. last year when i got my permit, i started looking for some 3rd gens, i joined the mailing list and lurked around the forums. then i got an 87 bmw, 4 days after i got my liscense, it exploded in my driveway. 3 weeks later, my friend crashed his beautiful altima the day i got my 86 bmw.
about a month ago, i bought a 92 maxima SE, yesterday i sold the bmw. its not really gone, i still have a key to it.
im 17 now, i figure i wont own anything but a maxima/nissan for the rest of my life..i'll always have a 4dsc. although, i do want a big SUV like a yukon denali, just to pimp out...the usual stuff..tints, rims, SC, exhaust. then i want TVs, PS2, sick SQ stereo, GPS, all sorts of toys and what not. that would just be a second car though....

I know what you mean on the stud bolts.. I have to replace those soon.. But other than that, I am happy/proud to own my Maxima.. Will even be happier when we get the Sentra
SE-R V-SPEC next year.. WOO HOOOO..

I LOVE MY MAXIMA..................

Well I have had a nIssan Maxima for just over a year. It has been the best car I have ever owned. I have always owned Nissan cars. My first 2 being Nissan Skylines made here in Australia. I test drove a Nissan Maxima because of a great review I found in a car magazine. Recomended as the best used buy for reliability. I love my Max so much I wash it every week and service it very frequently. everyone always comments on how well it looks and it's showroom condition looks. Im so glad that I test drove one and then when out looking for the best one I could find. I brought mine over the internet and traveled 600kms to get it. Couldn't find a better car....well Done Nissan.

I have noticed that a few people had had comments about there Nissan Maxima's saying that they have problems. But all cars have problems, even new ones down the road.... But if you look after it well it will last forever...well a very long time. I have had my fair share of problems and have taken them in my stride. (All injectors needed replacement, Exhaust manafold studs replaced and Automatic transmission flush to synthetic transmax Z).
But I still love it and enjoy ever minute I spend driving it. I always walk up to people that own Maxima's and always comment on there cars and ask how it it going. I know it sounds obsessive....but hey I love em...
Anyway I could go on forever and ever about the Maxima's but the 3rd Gen is the best........ Ok Im finished now..

I personally love my Max and cant even think of getting rid of it.I love it because it is so unique!A little bit of everything it really is a great performer.Handling,Styling,Power,Luxury...etc...An d besides everyone else is driving civics, accords, camrys, integras,And I for one like being different.I still get so many compliments about it everyday I get atlest 1.As if it were a new car or something!

What a surprise, I love my Max too!

94 max SE

really comfortable
Looks awesome esp w/ nice rims
handling is great
acceleration awesome-parents have a 99se 5spd and I think the 99 is a little bit quicker from a standstill, however, my max can still smoke any of my friends cars (jetta, corrola, TEMPO, older saabs, old volvo, avalon)
correct me if you think I would lose to any of these (all stock, including me)

anyway, the max is a great car and hopefully its reputation for reliability will hold up for the next year before I go to college

I'm definately proud, although not that happy...

I hate to sound like I'm wining about my car all the time, but I'm just speaking of the problems I have. In the 1+ year ownership of this car I still think it is one of the best looking cars on the road, great design, comfort etc, handling, acceleration, and other things are just perfect for the car.. but, I've been having mechanical problems that are a pain to fix, I am going to college and need more money for tuition etc, it ****es me off spending dough non-stop though I realize as cars get older more things break.
I always wanted a 3rd gen, in 94-95 when I got a bit of an interest in cars, though I was 12 years old or so I loved the 3rd gen. I love my cars color, I love everything about it, except the auto tranny and missing ABS brakes, but besides that it's just perfect for me. If not for the problems I'd call myself "proud abnd happy" but for now i'm just proud because it looks damn good and I don't have to prove **** to anyone, the maxima is a great car, plus I'm proud to be a member of maxima.org.. From lurking through other car forums be it hondas/Mustangs etc.. I think maxima owners are some of the coolest guys out there... *wipes a tear*

LUV MY MAX!!!

I have a 92 GXE, and I have owned it for 4 1/2 years. It has been an excellent car and has never let me down. I am in the military and stationed in Italy and I have driven my MAX from Central Germany to Southern Italy several times at 100+mph and the thing has never missed a beat. Unbelievable how much pedal is left at 110mph! Never really had any problems with the exception of a water pump and a broken exhaust manifold stud. It seems as though I have this strange bond with the damn car, and I couldn't possibly betray it by selling, so I guess I'll drive it until it literally won't go anymore. I would definitely buy another one, in a heartbeat!

I love mine.
Got it almost 2 years ago for 6K with 100k on the odo.
It's since then seen another 1K of maintenace - big tune-up, CV boots, Brakes, but I expected that of a car this old.

The accleration is outstanding, VTC chatter hasn't been so bad now that it's on Amsoil, and it cruises effortlessly at 90mph on the interstate while still getting 24mpg.

From now on, I think there's always going to be a Max in the family.

The 3rd gen was never sold as anything but a Maxima. Only the 4th and 5th.

Oh yea, I've had mine for five years and loved every day of it.

My mom has a 4th gen, and I have a third gen, and I think the third is better in comparison. I find myself not wanting to drive hers, and just enjoying everything about mine. It looks great, drives great, and is luxurious and roomy inside- something you can't say for the rice rockets.

Im a proud owner of my max, but I wish it was cleaner, newer and faster. Possibly 94 SE 5spd? The repairs are never ending, but so is the engine. I think this is the best engine made in terms of reliability without comprimising performance and luxury. I have replaced everything except the manifold studs and rear window regulator. I love my max, but I just wish that it had the 92-94 SE looks and a little more paint. I am going to keep this car as long as I can, but I can't garuntee that I wont get a 99 SE-L if a good opportunity comes along. But I like my max, and I wont get rid of it unless it doesnt behave

To my surprise the 3rd gen, or should I say the good ol' timer can still keep up with the newer cars out there, if not manage to be ahead. Definitely hard to let go of the Maxima...

3rd Gen's are bulletproof...

Wife and I have put 140,000+ miles, have replaced only brakes, timing belt (pre-emptive), battery, tires, Y-pipe, and just put alternator on this month. Need an exhaust cat-back, but the original's stiil on. No niggling problems like my Audi.

My Baby Max...what can i say....I LOVE YOU BABY...In the past 6 months since we've been together,we've been through so much from giving hot women rides to smokin Hondas and Toyotas!! You are my true love..can't let the g/f hear that or it's ! Don't worry on my 18th b-day/ our 7th month anniversary you'll be getting your nice CAI .

Anyways, I just love my baby (despite a few annoying problems) and I'm going to keep this car until it runs no more....then it'll be another Max on the way or possibly Supra or Skyline!!

Much love to all the other 3rd Gennies!!!
