Intake outtake
Intake outtake
I got me one of them swiss army knife style allen key jobbies. I can't seem to get just the right fit for the bolts on the intake. One size has too much play and the next size up wount fit. My question is are all allen keys the same? Or is there an American kind and a rest a of the world kind like every thing else?
i used a 6mm hex adapter for a 3/8 inch ratchet..

OK thats what I was fishing for. They do com in Metric(rest of the world) and standard(American) I wasn't sure. Now I can go to the tool store and act like I know what I'm talkin about.
5.5 mm is the correct size. 6mm will get stuck in the bolts and 5mm will strip them.
GO buy this and use them with a socket

You can then correctly torque the bolts when assembling

No,the intake bolts are 6mm,not 5.5mm. You might think they are due to 12+ years of dirt built up inside the bolt head causing the 6mm allen head to not fit in there. Try cleaning the bolt ends out with a small wire brush or similar tool, then the 6mm will fit like a glove.
