Engine Mounts
#2
Not sure...
how long they last..but during 1-2 gear change u should feel and "hear" a THUD. also if you go under the hood and watch the engine while it revs it'll "rise" higher than normal. the mount might not be broken either...it could just be the bolt holding the mount together, besure to verify that before you go through the trouble of buying brand new mounts!

9% of the time, that bolt won't break.. any engine movement you see is the rubber inside the mount not holding the engine in position.. in neutral, you shouldn't see the engine move hardly at all.
best way to tell is to open the hood, stomp on the brake, put the car in gear, and hit the gas a time or two.. if you see a lot of movement on the engine, it's time to change the mounts. if you don't see a lot of movement, you're okay.
usually it's the front engine mount that goes bad. the rear engine mount also wears, but not as bad. the tranny mounts don't usually tear up nearly as often as the engine mounts.
