WAYYY TOOO MUCCCHHH!

Even if they offer the alignment, it's way too much.

Install for springs/shocks and alignment should only be about $300 or so. You are suppling the shocks/springs I assume.

You might need various other little pieces but that would only come out to another $100 at most.

Are they replacing other stuff also? ie.. worn tie rods, king pins etc...?

Walk, no run away from that shop. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, well you can have th cash if you want.

Find some other place. If anything open the yellow pages and just start at the top, call them all and get a quote. I guess you don't have to call them all, but you get my point.

price

Yes that is an crazy price. It isnt that hard to do it yourself. They charge that much because of labor issues they say it takes a long time to do so thats why it cost so much. When I went to get some quotes some places said that they dont even like messing with the maxima suspension because they say that things break. But I had no trouble putting in my rear struts. The only thing that you might have a problem with like me is compressing the spring I had midas do it for 15 dollars a side.

yeah, too much

Unfortunately I actually paid close to that amount for mine.
70 bucks for the front, and about 400 for the rear. The reason? one bolt from the bottom of the strut housing on each sode broke when they tried to take it off, these were 3 inch stainless bolts that they had to drill and tap out, 4 extra hours of labor at 60 bucks/hr = $240 extra bucks I had to pay. sucked.

GEEZ!!!!!

and I thought my price quotes were high....one shop quoted me $350, another $150-250(depending on OEM replacement parts) and finally $400 at the local "Ricer" shop! luckily my friend hooked me up with a good deal with his GF's uncle...$50-75(depending on replacement parts), can't beat that!

Damn...where r u at? I'll do them for $300 no problem...it's very true that the rear shocks are a pain in the *** though.

Spend your $$$ on tools/manuals that you may need, and do it yourself. It will most likely still come out much cheaper, plus you get to keep the tools

My Install

My mechanic charged $150 for installing both front and rear springs and struts. I was impressed, although he did gouge me for the strut boots ($90 for all four). $250 for the whole process is pretty reasonable.
