hey guys, I am just about to start my max project, and I have a little ???
I have a 93 se ( ve power!) and I recently picked up a 85 300zx with 59000 org. miles, its a parts only car( it got smacked up pretty bad from the rear)

so here is the million dollar question. Should I do a complete engine swap, or should I turbo the ve ( watch out czar!!) My max engine is still pulling hard, and I recently did a compression check. I also have a shop around my way that will help do all the piping for boosting the ve or swapping to the z31 engine. I have the resources to go in either direction, but im leaning toward boosting the ve.
so which way would you go?

NOOOO!!!!

putting a VG-t in the VE is sacrilegious!! VG-t swaps are exclusive to VG Maxs...VEs get no love and don't deserve a VG-T! no but seriously if you have the means and the $$$ to turbo the current VE you have, I'd go that route, cause if you look at at it, you'd be the first(if you do get done before Czar) and if the kit is successful, you can mass produce a VE Turbo Kit and make some loot for yourself! but remember VG-T into VE is a big NO NO!!!(j/k)

Boost it all the way....

Don't even bother with using the VG-T, minus the turbo and downpipe. That engine uses a totally different wire harness and you would need both service manuals to properly swap them out. I say just get the goodie's from the Z (wastegate, POV, Turbo, downpipe, oil cooler and boost the VE.

Definatly don't try to put the VG engine in it, you are just creating more problems than it is worth. Go with the VE-T, just be ready for lots of headaches.

Yeah man.... Don't even bother messing with the VG-T.

Update:

As some of you know I recently purchased a sport bike (CBR600F1) so lately I have been having a blast on that. (man no car can accelerate like a bike) However the project will continue this weekend as rain is in the forcast so you know I ain't gonna kill myself on a crotch rocket..

I should be receiving soon my BOV, and boost/fuel pressure gauges, and this weekend is looking like a great time to get the downpipe done if not also the turbo tubing to the intake. Keep posted, I should be getting done here soon (with pics!!). The funny thing is that now that I have this insanely fast bike, I don't drive my maxima hard anymore; it just seems so pointless....

Did I mention that sportbikes are FAST with a capital 'F'???
