Has anyone installed new rotors on their car? Either slotted/crossdrilled rotors or either of the two. I was about to purchase some and wanted to know if you noticed that much of a differece. Also which do you guys prefer. Slotted/crossdrilled , slotted, or crossdrilled. Thanks guys.

i heard they really didnt make a difference at all and that you could get just as good performance with stock rotors and a good set of brake pads. but the slotted/cross drilled rotors look good and that is the only reason i would get them. i wouldnt hope too much for performance gains.

Thanks. I'll probably still stick with them because they look nicer and are cheaper than OEM. I need new ones anyway.

I ordered some slotted for front and rear from ricrombi or something. Maxima rotors are bad for warping when they get old and I figured it would be about the same price either way, about $300 all four slotted. I went with factory brakes cause no one made sports pads all the way around, I wanted some Green Stuff, again, only for the front. So, with factory, I felt a little difference, racing, definitely better. But, the pads are going to make a big difference. A friend said he took the Green stuff bads off his Z cause the brakes kept locking up on him.

If you've got a GXE with rear drums, you can only find good pads for the front.. stick with OEM shoes on the back.. I've tried just about every brand you can think of on those drums, and OEM is 10x better than any other. those still sucked for repeated high speed braking.. that's why I switched my rears to discs last weekend.

As for pads, you can get good pads from EBC, Prterfield, and Axxis/Stillen. if you have an SE, you can also get rears for themodels with discs.

back to the rotor issue, you can get brembo blanks (plain rotors, no holes/slots) for about $45 each. porterfield also sells their rotors for about $70 each..

you can get Stillen (brembo) drilled rotors for about $180/set. Powerstop and powerslot rotors are bouth about the same price on carparts.com

I have the stillen/Brembo drilled rotors on my fronts, and I noticed a huge difference in performance over stock rotors.. but then again my stock rotors and pads where abou t75% worn out when I switched to the brembo rotors.
