i have an 89 max auto, had the tranny rebuilt 2 weeks ago. had this prob b4 tranny died. WHen i come out of a parking spot, idles really low then shuts off. it happens more often than ever when i turn the wheel all around one way or another. Is this normal? idles at 500 normally. one thing i havent changed the filters (maybe the air filter) but not the others. pls help, trying to make it perfect after i fixed the engine and tranny. thanks a whole bunch!!!

 

you might want to check the TPS and MAF connectors and clean off any corrosion. While you're at it, clean out the throttle with intake throttle body cleaner and a toothbrush. If you're still bored, pull off the hoses on the IAA control unit and spray in intake throttle body cleaner to break up carbon deposits. I had the same problem on my 87; cleaning out all the sensors, TBs, and IAA prevented the stumbling when the throttle was applied in first gear/low throttle applications.
