looking for a 93 or 94 se, pref 5 sp, but auto would be ok. looking to see what i should pay for one, and what year did the engine switch to the more powerful? looking for a inexpensive car, also looking at a 1993 sentrs se-r.

the VE engines are more powerful, but less parts are made for that engine. if you want to mod things, the VGs have a few more options available.

to actually answer your question, a 92-94 SE 5 spd will go in the neighborhood of $4-7k, depending on condition, mileage, options and location.

I got lucky and picked up my 93SE 5 spd for $2800. albeit it had 150k miles, it's in pretty good shape. needs a tranny rebuild (which I dropped it off at the shop this morning for), but other than that the only problems I've had are regular maintenance that was just never done. brakes, CV boots, struts, battery, etc.
for that price, I can afford to rebuild the engine and tranny and still have money left over from the $6k it would cost to find one with just 100k miles.

If you want speed and can stand less room, the SE-R will be a good choice. One turbo kit or SR20DET or CA18DET swap away from some kick *** power.

forget the maxima and the sentra se-r, If you want the foo foo and power, go with the infinity G20t 5spd, they come with the same 140hp twin cam four banger the sentras came with, and yes many options with them, (TURBO). The infiniti's run 16's stock, and have sooo much more potential.

Thats what ill be getting soon, as soon as i get rid of my Maxipad, Its a 92SE VE 5spd, with some real mpds, and 200k kms.

Its up for sale whenever someone is serious about it.
Many new parts installed(ECU, ign.module, crank angle sensor, EGR, PCV, O2, etc.....)
suspension complete all around, lightened flywheel, centerforce clutch, exhaustcomplete.
Tint, bimmer lights, Stillen front lip.......

Make an offer, black on black.

rebuild cost?

I need to have my transmission rebuild too. How much are you paying to have yours done? They want $450 plus parts for my 5 spd.
