Thanks to the instructions from skymax and chris this came out really well. When I was all done I had to cut the grill side edges with a bandsaw to make it fit. I sprayed it flat black to hide it.

All BMW 3-series lights 91-95 are the same unit I learned.

So just say you want headlight assemblies for a 95 318.

I bought mine from http://catalog.thepartsbin.com/

BMW part # 63 12 1 468 865 PartsBin # P8000-39413
BMW part # 63 12 1 468 866 PartsBin # P8000-39414

Hellas are $153. total

I love these light conversions. Its like the lights were almost made for the look of the car. Very nice. Oh ya, how much were the lights. Did you need any different harnesses or any different wiring.

Buy pigtails for 9005 and 9006 bulbs at Pep Boys. Follow the how-to instructions posted elsewhere on this board.

Are there any variations on the BMW lightsm, I've seen ones with 5-6 horizontal lines across the lights at http://www.sbnw39840.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/stuscar.htm

Whos car is that? I really like the look of these with the clear corners instead of the completly clear head lights.

Old Man, for a newbie, you are pretty slick. Nice job on the lights.

nice work OldMan. I know something that will make it look better-> you see that dark plastic inside the headlights... well if you painted that the same as your body color it will make it look nice. I've seen bimmers that have done this and it looks sweet, im contemplating doing mine, but im not sure if its worth it because you could barely tell that its been done because of the dark body color... just an idea, let me know what ya think

That does sound good. Right now I've had enough with my headlights so I'm going to leave them in and just drive for a while.

BTW, with the front Nissan badge popped off the grill, people have the hardest time trying to figure out what they're looking at. I love parking at a restaurant and watch people walk slowly around the car while I eat. (I'm sure some don't know what kind of car it is even after reading the word "Maxima" between the rear tailights.)

My first day out a Bimmer flashed me.

I'm pretty sure only E36 lights fit. ('91-'95 3 series, M3 and all, are the same light) The newest M3 is an E46.

Yes they are plastic but no clue about chipping and cracking. I assume I can replace the lens cover if need be. A tech friend says this type are all plastic. Go to a dealership and check out mid '90s 3 series.

Stongard http://www.stongard.com/sgcontent/what_sgl.asp makes a protective cover for all headlights and would cure everything. (about $35-$40.)
