hey guys,

I am in the process of getting my car ready to go to the body shop and I was wondering if anyone has experience in removing the black trim around the windows, and how difficult that was. I'm getting the car painted but I don't want the shop to either mask them and f*** up the paint or paint over them thus also f*** it up. Also what is involved in removing the door handles? being able to do this would save me some money on labor

THanx

unless you're good at pulling trim like that, I don't recommend trying it. I helped a couple people remove theirs, and we broke more of them than we removed correctly. the tabs hold them on pretty securely, and the tabsthemselves are very fragile... SNAP! there goes another one.. and since you can't replace the tabs, you just have to buy a $60 trim piece again...

let them do it. you're paying them to do a job, they should do it right. if they mess it up, they should be the ones that have to replace it.
