Got my car back from the mechanic and... DAMN

So I get my car back after 6 days and an arm and a leg $450 for a FUEL TANK and like that's not bad enough, SOMEBODY HIT MY RIGHT FRONT FENDER! The mechanics didn't even tell me about it, but I just noticed the nice dent and white paint on it, and it ripped the adhesive off one of my clear corners! Any lawyers out there know if a mechanic is liable for your car when they're working on it if it gets damaged? It's gonna prolly cost about $100 to get dent removal and repaint it... anyone know what I can do about the corner? I don't have any adhesive like that laying around... go to nissan dealer? Thanks for any help on this matter

It depends on the type of insurance your mechanic has and even then you have to prove them responsible. Lots of places will have signs that announce they are not responsible for your vehicle/items in your vehicle when it is left on premises. However some auto shops have insurance coverage (GarageKeepers Coverage) that will cover stuff like this. They will more than likely fight you on it and say it was there when it was brought in etc etc...
Good Luck.
