The latest gen. Had the standard Altezzas, exhaust...don't know about intake/headers,etc. He did have a few stickers on teh car...one said www.turbofour.com.
Pleased to sayhe didn't pull away from as much as I'd imagine...plus I'd wait for him to go..then I'd punch. I doubt he was trying...and if he had turbo...I know he wasn't trying. Nice to know this car can still keep up.

As for standard...I meant as typical of modded/riced out Honda.

My previous car was a '92 Maxima SE 5spd. That was totalled courteousy of a careless truck driver so now I own a 2001 Honda Prelude 5spd. There is no such thing as a "type R" Prelude. The only real state side available "type R" was the late lamented Acura Integra. There are two versions of the Prelude. The base model (5spd. or auto.) and the SH (5spd only). The only thing the SH has that the base doesn't is ATTS (active torque transfer system) which is a handling/suspension system. Both models have the same H22 VTEC engine that makes 200 horsepower. It is a formidable car but as with any other high revving four cylinder it must be launched almost perfectly. The average 1/4 mile for the 5spds unmodded is between 14.6 and 15.2. Properly modded they can literally be transformed. Alas, I still miss my old Max .

Just FYI, the stock horsepower for the new base model Prelude is 200 even. I should know, I own one. In 99 they changed the exhaust ever so slightly to make the 5spd base and SH even in power. The slushbox I think takes a hit down to 195, but who really wants an automatic Prelude. As far as 1/4 mile times....check out preludeonline.com, a guy who goes by "99Prelude_LC" has posted his time slip for the 1/4 in the mid 14s on several occassions. He revs up to 6K rpm and feathers the clutch resulting in less wheelspin than you might think and more forward momentum than expected. Admitedly, hes probably going to keep Honda in business with replacement clutches, but whatever. Finally, the Prelude is a rather heavy car for Honda if you are comparing it to their run of the mill Civics.

*yawn* this is boring. those cars still have the stock motors. in them. hey chris. you'll see my buddy jared's del sol at the meet, he's got a GS-R motor in it hehehehe that thing DESTROYS my max, but then again, he runs in the 14's without trying. I'm thinking 13's may be possible. ya never know. oh well, just wait till i get boost, oh wait, i might never get boost as far as preludes go, i have a 93 4WS that's pretty tight. corners like mad, and it's pretty peppy, no VTEC though we might drop an H22A head on it and make it a VTEC anyway, yeah, ludes are still quick in my book. but i wouldn't drive one every day.
