I have the same problem as everyone with our windows in the fact that they window will not go/stay up. This is the FIFTH time I have had to do this on my car alone, and cannot afford to pay (and refuse to pay) for it to be fixed again. I just want to prop the window up semi-permanently till I can get the money to repair it. I have done smaller jobs to prop it up, (ie wedging paper and things in there) however I live in Austin which has many hills and very poor roads and this does not hold. Thanks

I dont know why this would keep happening if you're having the regulators replaced with new ones. The new ones are stronger adn shouldn't break. Anyway, check out my site for info on how to take apart the door and replace regulator if you want to tackle it yourself or just take apart the door and put some wood in there between the glass and the bottom of the door

Thanks Craig, however I have been to your site (very helpful site) and couldn't get the three screws surrounding the regulator off without stripping them. So I decided to not do it at that time. Like I said, I have little money to even buy the part right now, but is there no way to keep the window up in order to prevent rain from getting into my car?

Stripping screws

I had the same problem with those screws.... Go get yourself a new bigger screwdriver. Then they come out no problem... It helps to have the right tools...

just my .02...
