Need tire advice

Need tire advice
I am going to need new tires soon for my car. I'm going to stick with the stock size, but would like some feedback on what experiences people had with different tires and what they like/dislike about them. The tires I have on right now are Michelin XH4's and they wear very well (Michelin wasn't kidding when they claimed these are 80,000 mile tires) and handle OK, but would like a bit more grip as these are touring tires. Some tires I am considering are Yokohama AVS dB, Yokohama AVID H4s, Dunlop SP5000s, Dunlop SP Sport A2. Thanks.

I am currently using Yokoham AVS db. They are outstanding, especially in the bang for the buck category. They wear all right but offer outstanding traction, especially in wet weather. Very quiet. I have no complaints.

Re: Need tire advice
I've also been looking at what tires to buy.
Had a couple sets of Dunlop D60A2's and was not overly impressed so I will probably stay away from the Sport A2's.
The Sport 5000's get good marks but heard they wear.
I am leaning toward Bridgestone Potenza 950. It's a newer tire and got very good reviews on TireRack.
I talked to a local shop and the guy got to go to Arizona to test 3 tires on 3 cars without knowing what tires were on the cars.
He picked the Bridgestones hands down and put them on his 91 SE.
I'm also in an area that gets snow and they got a nice rating for snow traction.
Let us know what you get.

I swear by the Avids. Had them on all my vehicles and I love them. Depending on your driving style, you should get about 40k-45k. I've had them on my Accord (195/60R14), my Corolla (175/70R13 & 205/50R15), my S-10 (225/60R15) and my Cavalier (215/60R14). I just recently switched to Cooper Cobra GT on the Cavalier and I have one word to describe them: Garbage. The Avids are great in the snow and they handle great in dry or wet weather. Cannot wait for the Cobras to wear out so I can put some new Avids on it. I noticed no loss of driveability, even in heavy snow with these tires on my S-10. That should tell you how great of a tire the Avids are.

2nd the Avids. My bro just bought the avid v4s and he's pretty happy with them for their $$/value.

i have sp5000's and they are great! great in the elements especially. their wet traction and hydro resistance are excellent. they are also awesome on the race track. my only disappointment is they do wear fairly fast. expect about 30k out of a set.
