Stereo Installation Write Up
Stereo Installation Write Up
Does any one know where I can find a good and complete Audio Installation Write, I have seen the one on Craig's site but It didn't have anything about Wiring Harness and stuff, also how to install the door and rear speakers and all that sort of things in great detail, if some one could either, tell me where it one is or post one that would be greatly appreciated.

hmmm, well I really need help with a lot, I will make a list.
>Wiring Harnesses, How they work, what I need to make it work and cutting wires. - Bose to Kenwood, if that matters
>Removing the Rear Speakers and Amps, what wires to hook up to what on the rear and door speakers.
>Removing Front 4in door speakers and amp, and replacing them wit 6 and 1/2 speaker
>Antenna conversion
I guess that is about It, I may think of something else. I know how to get the radio out and get to the speakers I could probaly figure out how to do all this stuff, it would just be really helpful to have some guidelines to go buy. Since I have to buy 4 new speakers + Head Unit, I dont really have the money to pay someone to install it all also.
Also any suggestions to good quality but not too expensive speakers and some stuff like that would be nice.
check the audio and electronics forum. there's a couple of good FAQ pages at the top of there.
Also, you've got the Bose system, obviously.. it's more than just a remove and replace conversion to get around the Bose. you have to cut and splice several wires in each door to bypass the amps on each bose pod. This stuff isn't for a novice. I know you're trying to save some money and do it yourself, but I would highly recommend having a shop do it since the BOSE isn't the easiest system to work around. After the headaches and time you've spent doing it, you could have easily mozed and extra couple lawns or cleaned someone's pool/house/apartment/etc for the money it'll take to pay a shop to do it.

i just got finished replacing part of the system in my 92gxe(non bose). the only surprise was the nissan diversity antenna. you'll probably need an adapter to make it fit your new head unit. something like this: http://www.scosche.com/scosche/antennas/NDA.asp
the wiring harness is easy. the end with the connector plugs directly into the car's harness. connect the loose ends (they will be labeled) to your new head unit. you can get something like this for $6 at wal-mart: http://www.scosche.com/scosche/connectors/NN02.asp
i copied someone's idea posted in the group on how to put 6.5s up front. search for it. if you can't find it, i'll pop off a door panel and take a pic.
here's a link on how to remove your existing system. it's no better than craig's except for the rear speaker removal. http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalNisMax0.htm
