Opinions: Center Force Clutches?
What's your take on them? I've had mine now for 3 months/1200 miles and they have lost their bite. I also can no longer chirp second gear. How have they been for you? Any reconmendations for a different brand?
TIA

Man, that sucks...
glad I spent the extra money on my ACT now!
I've put a couple thousand on mine already (6000 miles on the car since I bought it July 24... )
Trips to Kansas city (1000 miles), Branson (500), dallas (500), and LOTS of very hard driving around town, and I can still chirp 3rd.
and for the extra $60 over the Centerforce, I'm very happy I got it!
you guys aren't overfilling your tranny fluid are you? that's what killed my last clutch.. overfilled the fluid and it leaked out of my input shaft onto the clutch.... slip city!

combine that with a leaking input shaft seal, you then have tons of extra tranny fluid trying to get out that leaking seal.
and yes, it had to have been in part due to the overfilling of the tranny.. it wasn't slipping badly at all until I changed my CV boots and overfilled the tranny when I put it back together.. a week later, the original clutch was fried (and completely covered in grease if you look at the pics)

look at pics 12 through 23.

I dunno specs.. might be able to fins them on ACT's website or from Courtesy. that's where I got mine... it's a bit better than the centerforce I believe, but this thing is one grabby ****!
funny thing is it won't kill the car if you dump it wrong.. the car will just lurch forward and the RPM will drop to next to nothing.. shove the pedal back in and rpms go back to idle and the car then smoothly drives off after the smooth engagement.
I think the problem is from my clutch master cylinder leaking a tad.. while I stand on the pedal at a light, I guess it seeps backwards a bit and then the clutch engages just above the floor. let go and pump the pedal again and it's just fine.
oh well.. another thing to fix!

How much pressure does your pressure plate put out? I couldn't chirp third.
