whirring sound... throwout bearing?

I have a whirring sound when I accelerate and when I deccelerate, but the noise stops if I push in my clutch... could that be something like a throwout bearing, or maybe worn clutch parts?

If it's a throwout bearing you can check it sitting still in neutral. If it's on it's way out then you will hear a low pitched whirr of sorts when you release the clutch pedal. Push the clutch pedal in then it should go away. If it only happens when you are in gear then it should be something else. I've gone for a few months on a noisey throwout bearing before I replaced it.

Looks like you detected this earlier than me. To be safe, take the trans fluid sample and get it diagnose.. If you are lucky, it is just low on fluid or maybe just the throwout bearing.

If you are unluckly like me, it's the transmission...
